SHI’I STUDIES CERTIFICATE

New Shi’i Studies Certificate: Mufid Academic Seminary is pleased to announce its new Shi’i Studies Certificate. Applicants who do not wish or qualify to enroll in the full time Hawzah Studies can apply for a part-time Certificate program and earn a certificate by Mufid Academic Seminary in Shi’i Studies. 

About: The Shi’i Studies Certificate is an online program for those who are interested in strengthening their knowledge in Shi’i Studies from Philosophy and Mysticism, to Jurisprudence, Islamic History, and Hadith. The goal of this program is to further introduce Shi’i Studies in Islamic Studies at the crossroads of traditional studies and Western academia.

Credits for Certification: This certificate consists of 12 credits or 4 courses which will be taken over the course of 4 academic semesters. Enrolled students will be given a maximum of 3 years to complete the required credits. Upon the successful completion of courses, all participants will receive a Certificate in Shi’i Studies. There is no Required Courses for this certificate. All content courses are eligible to be chosen toward this this certificate.

How To Apply

Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above may apply by filling out the application form by pressing the APPLY NOW button below.

These courses will be taught via live Zoom sessions from the comfort of your home. Each course consists of two meetings per week for 15 weeks, so please plan accordingly. The timing of classes is mostly in the evening time and the recorded Zoom meetings will be available to the students for the classes they missed.

Tuition: The tuition for each 3-credit course is $1500. Fees may be proceeded through Mufid’s PayPal at the end of the registration form.

Scholarships: At this time, Mufid is offering a 50% discount to eligible college students who apply for the scholarship. This scholarship is applicable only up to two courses. To apply for this scholarship, please write a personal statement of a maximum of 150 words. In this statement, please include:

  1. Why you would like to join this program,
  2. Your goals for this program, and
  3. How you think this program will benefit you.
